Three provinces in Canada have issued invitations to candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
Candidates are invited to apply under Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) when provincial governments believe they will quickly integrate into the economy and help the local labour force by filling critical vacancies in high-demand industries.
Candidates are chosen by the provinces either from the federal Express Entry pool of applications (a procedure known as enhanced nomination) or from those who apply directly to the provincial government (base nomination).
Getting nominated through a PNP is not the same as obtaining permanent resident status, but it strengthens an application. Nominated candidates must still submit a separate application to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

British Columbia
In the most recent BC PNP draw, held on October 11, more than 180 candidates were invited.
The province sponsored four targeted lotteries for Skilled Worker and International Graduate candidates (including Express Entry).
The largest attraction attracted 118 individuals working in technical occupations. To be considered, they required a minimum score of 90.
The results of the remaining three draws are as follows. A minimum score of 60 was required for candidates in each occupation.

Manitoba
On October 5, Manitoba held four drawings, asking 542 applicants to seek for nomination.
Two of the draws were for Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates. The first was an occupation-specific draw for 219 individuals working in National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 major categories.
· 72 – Technical trades and transportation officers and controllers
· 73 – General trades
· 75 – Helpers and labourers and other transport drivers, operators and labourers
Candidates required a minimum score of 610 to be considered.
The second skilled worker draw was broad, which means that candidates were not chosen based on a specific characteristic. The province welcomed 222 individuals who scored at least 629.
The other two draws were equally general, with 41 candidates from the Skilled Worker Overseas category and 60 candidates from the International Education stream invited.
Alberta
On October 10, Alberta held a minor draw, inviting 13 individuals from the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program’s Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta employment offer stream. All Express Entry candidates in this track must have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 327.
Alberta reported a total of 1,462 nominations for candidates in this stream for 2023, with less than 10 applications now in the queue. It also states that around 1,383 allocations are still available.
