This week, three Canadian provinces nominated Candidates to apply for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).A provincial nomination improves a permanent residence application. This is due to the fact that a province will only submit economic immigration candidates who they believe are well-suited to economically establish themselves inside the province by filling gaps in the provincial labour force.
These applicants are also thought to be more likely to stay in the nominating province, where they may already be living or have a job offer or close family members.
Express Entry candidates that are nominated receive an additional 600 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This means they are almost certain to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next round of Express Entry invites to apply for permanent residency.
British Columbia
British Columbia invited over 225 candidates in four consecutive draws of the BC PNP this week.
For 169 candidates in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled streams, the largest draw was general, which meant no occupation was mentioned. The minimal Skilled Immigration Registrations System (SIRS) score for Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled candidates ranged from 88 to 106 for Skilled Workers and 109 for International Graduates.
The remaining three draws only considered Skilled Workers and International Graduates with SIRS scores of at least 60.
33 early childhood educators and assistants;
23 healthcare professionals; and
less than five other high-demand occupations
Alberta
Alberta has revealed the results of the three most recent Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) draws. Candidates who are already in the Express Entry application pool were nominated in all three draws.
The province welcomed 14 individuals through the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta employment offer stream on August 15. They required a CRS score of at least 326.
On August 16, the province also accepted 300 Express Entry candidates with a CRS score of 408 or above through the Priority sector – Tourism and hospitality employment with Alberta job offer stream.
Finally, on August 22, the province invited 89 individuals with a minimum CRS score of 303 through the Priority sector – Construction vocation with Alberta job offer stream.
Manitoba
Manitoba released 623 letters of advise to candidates in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on August 24. There were 178 Express Entry candidates among them.
Among them, the government welcomed 256 Manitoba Skilled Workers with a minimum score of 612. These candidates also needed to work in one of three particular National Occupational Classification major group codes:
· 3 – General trades
· 74 – Mail and message distribution, other transport equipment operators and related maintenance workers
· 75 – Helpers and labourers and other transport drivers, operators and labourers
In addition, in a non-occupation specific draw, the province invited 250 Skilled Workers with a minimum score of 646.
With a minimum score of 724, 63 individuals were invited through the International Education stream and 54 through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.
