Four Canadian provinces announced immigration drawings this week under their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island were among them.

Results of provincial immigration: September 16-22nd

*Please keep in mind that precise terms regarding immigration invites and eligibility scores may differ from province to province. For clarity, all immigration invitations to apply will be referred to as invitations to apply (ITAs), and immigration eligibility scores will be referred to simply as “score” or “scores”.

British Columbia

British Columbia held both a general and a targeted immigration draw, with numerous immigration streams available. They were as follows:

·          Skilled Worker stream;

·          Skilled Worker-Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC)* option stream;

·          International Graduate stream;

·          International Graduate EEBC option stream; and

·          Entry Level and Semi-Skilled immigration streams.

*EEBC indicates that this BCPNP stream is compatible with Express Entry and can accept improved nominations.

The British Columbia PNP (BCPNP) issued 147 ITAs across various streams. For the Skilled Worker and Skilled Worker EEBC option streams, the minimum score to be invited was 108. International and International Graduate EEBC option streams need a minimum score of 111. Finally, to be qualified for this draw, candidates in the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled streams needed a minimum score of 89.

In a targeted professions draw, the BCPNP gave 78 ITAs to candidates in both the Skilled worker and International Graduate streams (and their EEBC counterparts). In this draw, candidates with professional expertise as early childhood educators/educator assistants or in healthcare professions were considered. The minimal minimum score to be considered for this draw was 60.

Alberta

This week, the Alberta PNP (AAIP) announced two immigration drawings.

The first drawing was held in the Family Connection and Priority Occupation In-demand streams. Candidates achieving a minimum score of 301 were awarded 142 ITAs in this draw.

The second draw, which was held under the Priority Sector stream, sought people with experience in tourism and hospitality occupations. Candidates with a minimum score of 383 received 300 ITAs from the AAIP.

Ontario

This week, the Ontario PNP (OINP) also staged two immigration draws. The first was a general draw from the Masters Graduate stream, which resulted in 537 ITAs being awarded to candidates with a minimum score of 41.

The second round was a random selection from the PhD Graduate Stream. Individuals with a minimum score of 40 and higher received 71 invites from the OINP.

Manitoba

This week, the Manitoba PNP (MPNP) issued four provincial nominee draws in a number of streams.

The first draw was an Occupation-specific Selection draw, which resulted in 298 ITAs being awarded to candidates with a minimum score of 612. This attracts targeted applicants with experience working as sales and service agents, or in supporting occupations.

In addition, the MPNP held a second, general draw for all other targeted occupations. Individuals with a minimum score of 631 were awarded 239 ITAs in this draw.

The third draw was held under the International Education Stream and targeted applicants with talents that are in demand in the work market and who graduated from a Manitoba educational institution. The draw produced 56 ITAs with no minimum score requirement.

The most recent draw was held under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, and candidates were recruited based on a prior invitation from the MPNP as part of a targeted recruitment campaign. The draw invited 27 applicants to apply for PR with a minimum score of 723.

Prince Edward Island

This week, the Prince Edward Island PNP (PEI PNP) held two draws.

The first event was held in the Business Impact Category and invited four candidates with a minimum score of 80.

The Critical Worker Stream (part of the larger Labour Impact Category) was used for the second draw. The draw awarded 153 invites to candidates who already worked for a provincial firm and had a minimum score of 55.
