British Columbia
Throughout the province, fall foliage can be seen. Stanley Park in Vancouver is a major urban park with around 500,000 trees; it is an excellent site to view the brilliant foliage during this season. Cycling along the Seawall bike route in the fall provides magnificent vistas of Vancouver as well as vibrant fall colours.
In terms of fall activities and festivals, Vancouver’s International Film Festival, which runs until October 8th, is one of the largest in North America.
The Fall Okanagan Wine Festival celebrates the fall grape harvest with over 60 events centred on wine, food, and culture in the midst of lakes and mountains. The festival will take place from October 27th to November 5th.
From September 22nd to October 15th, BC Culture Days is Canada’s largest public engagement campaign for the arts, with free and participatory events honouring arts, culture, and heritage.
The Annual Fall Festival at Maan’s Farms includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze, barnyard animals, ziplines, pumpkin pie, and apple cider slushies. It is open daily till November.
Finally, the Whistler Writers Festival is an annual literary celebration. From October 12th to 16th, you may meet Canadian and foreign authors and attend workshops, readings, speaker panels, and music events.
Alberta
A lot of places in Alberta transform in the fall. Banff, particularly Larch Valley, is a stunning location and route famed for its spectacular fall colour. Sky trams and gondolas are available in places like Jasper and Lake Louise for seeing the changing colours from above.
The Canyon Coaster at Canyon ski resort allows you to admire the fall foliage while riding a luge circuit through forest trails. Elk Island National Park can also be driven or trekked through to observe the aspen parkland foliage change from green to orange and reds.
There are numerous activities available across the province in fall. From October 13th to 29th, the Jasper Dark Sky Festival celebrates the stars and the universe in one of the world’s largest accessible dark sky preserves.
The Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival, held in Calgary and Edmonton in October and November, is one of Alberta’s largest food and beverage festivals.
Rodeo disciplines such as bareback riding and steer wrestling are included at the Canadian Finals Rodeo in November. Oktoberfest is also celebrated at a number of events throughout Alberta.
Finally, on October 29th, the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage ClassicTM in Edmonton will celebrate the 20th anniversary of hosting the first NHL regular season outdoor game.
Manitoba
Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba is a large national park with a variety of coloured trees in the fall. During this time of year, Wekusko Falls tourists can enjoy the splendour of waterfalls and rapids as well as the fall foliage.
At Oak Hammock Marsh and FortWhyte Alive, you may see fall hues and migrations while hundreds of geese land at sunset.
Manitoba also offers Culture Days, which run from September 22nd to October 15th and feature a variety of free activities.
Boonstra Farm features a 10-acre corn maze, a petting zoo, hayrides, and Halloween activities.
Brunswick, New Brunswick
The Fundy Coastal Drive is a 460-kilometer journey through fall foliage and colour. At this time of year, Fundy National Park features some of the highest tides in the world, as well as the most brilliant fall foliage.
Miscou Island is a northern New Brunswick island linked to the mainland by a bridge. Almost half of the island is covered in peat bogs, which turn a flaming red this time of year, providing a one-of-a-kind foliage experience.
From October 12th to 15th, the Indulge Food and Wine Festival will be held, where you can sample the creations of some of the province’s greatest chefs and food producers.
La Grande Grouille, which takes place from October 5th to 8th at the New Brunswick Botanical Garden, illuminates thousands of pumpkins for tourists.
Finally, you can explore the Kingsbrae Garden, which is a multi-award-winning horticultural masterpiece.
Labrador and Newfoundland
Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with beautiful fall foliage. Hike through the fjord, mountain ranges, and coastal pathways. Corner Brook, where the fall foliage is at its finest from late September to early October, is not far away.
Mummers Festival is a one-of-a-kind festival tradition in Newfoundland and Labrador, consisting of a free two-week series of events and workshops preceding the Mummers Parade.
During the fall, you may also visit the Town of Trinity, a coastal community with old buildings and a backdrop of vibrant trees.
Finally, from October 17th to 21st, you may visit the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival, one of the world’s longest women’s film festivals.
Nova Scotia
Some of the best spots to watch fall foliage in Nova Scotia include the Cabot Trail, where you can take a scenic drive along one of the world’s most beautiful roads and enjoy the bright fall colours. You may also see the fall colours in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, one of Canada’s most stunning national parks.
From the end of September to the end of October, visit Nova Scotia’s wine area near Wolfville and the Annapolis Valley. Drive to the Blomidon Look-Off on North Mountain in Canning for one of the greatest views of the fall colours in the region.
In terms of fall festivals and activities, the Celtic Colours International Festival, which begins on October 6th on Cape Breton Island, is a nine-day celebration of Celtic culture.
During the fall season, there are numerous apple picking locations in the Annapolis Valley, including Noggins Corner Farm and Willowbank Farm.
Ontario
Between mid-September to mid-October, Ontario Algonquin Park, a few hours between Toronto and Ottawa, is a kaleidoscope of colour with 24 native types of trees. To appreciate the magnificent fall colours this time of year, go to High Park in Toronto or the Dominion Arboretum in Ottawa.
The Niagara SkyWheel and zipline provide exhilarating vistas of waterfalls and vivid greenery. Next door, you can have the scare of your life at North America’s longest-running and scariest haunted house.
This fall is jam-packed with activities and festivals across the province. The Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest, which runs until October 14th, celebrates German heritage, food, music, and other activities.
The Prince Edward County Pumpkinfest, which takes place on October 14th and 15th, features a gigantic pumpkin weigh off that has been going on for 26 years. This award-winning event, Pumpkinferno in Upper Canada Village, features over 7,000 handcrafted, glowing pumpkins.
Ontario also boasts a plethora of farms where you can participate in a variety of activities and events. Hanes Corn Maze, Downey’s Farm, and Pingle’s Farm are a few examples of farms. Mdahk Farm is located on the Algonquin Nation’s traditional and unceded territory. Visitors are welcome to connect with local Indigenous cultures and customs at the farm.
Cinéfest Sudbury is a well-known film festival that began in September and is now in its 35th year.
Finally, the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival celebrates the region’s winemaking legacy via a variety of events and tastings.
Prince Edward Island
Experience the fall foliage on the Confederation Trail, a 435-kilometer-long foot or bike trail where you can enjoy the breathtaking fall colours. The Prince Edward Islands National Park also boasts sandy beaches, red cliffs, and wind-sculpted dunes.
The PEI Fall Flavours Food and Drink Festival, which takes place from October 1st to 15th, is a two-week celebration of Canada’s Food Island during the fall harvest season.
From October 1st to October 31st, the Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival celebrates fall with a variety of fun events such as hundreds of scarecrows, haunted tours, and stilt walkers.
Quebec
Visit Mont-Tremblant and take the gondola to the Laurentians’ highest peak for panoramic views of the fall colours.
Sentier des Crime Treetop Walk, a new wooden walkway and geometric tower that spirals over 130 feet in the air, is also worth a visit.
Montreal’s Botanical Garden is one of the world’s best and features a range of spectacular autumn displays.
Montreal has a number of Multicultural Festivals, including the Gardens of Light, an incredibly popular annual fall spectacle at the Botanical Gardens, and the Ramen Ramen Festival, which takes place from October 9th to 22nd and celebrates the Japanese food. Various orchards, including Labonté de la Pomme near Oka, allow you to harvest your own apples between September and October.
Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan has various provincial parks and conservation areas, such as the Wanuskewin tradition Park, where you may enjoy the fall hues while learning about Indigenous culture and tradition. Other provincial parks include:

Culture Days is a festival in Saskatchewan when you can take part in cultural events all throughout the province. Furthermore, the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival, which runs from November 17th to November 25th, showcases some of the best in international genre cinema.
