Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held an Express Entry lottery for all programs. Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were targeted in this latest Express Entry draw, which was an all-program draw.

The most recent Express Entry draw, held on August 15, 2023, resulted in a total of 4,300 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496.

#262 Express Entry Draw

Who Was Being Invited?

4,300 invites were issued.

To be invited to apply, you must have a rank of 4,300 or higher.

Draw type: All-program draw

Round date and time: August 15, 2023 at 14:23:51 UTC

The lowest-ranking candidates invited had a CRS score of 496.

Tiebreaker: August 1, 2023 at 12:59:52 UTC

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time their Express Entry profiles were submitted.

If you were invited,

IRCC has invited you to apply for Canada PR, you will receive the following notice in your account:

which program has encouraged you to apply for

what should be done next

You must produce evidence of the information you submitted in your Express Entry profile. If the IRCC discovers that you provided inaccurate information or omitted crucial elements, they may:

decline your application

If you are found inadmissible, you will be barred from applying for any sort of Canadian visa for the next five years.

Following that, you can confirm your eligibility for Canada PR under the program for which you have been invited to apply – and ensure that you are still qualified. You will be better prepared to apply if you properly understand the program criteria and prerequisites.

This draw is significant since it has more than double the number of ITAs as the previous draw on August 1st, demonstrating a good trend in Canadian immigration. Furthermore, the large reduction in the CRS score by 21 points provides an excellent opportunity for many skilled persons.

Surprisingly, this draw has the most invites given out of the last ten draws, including category-specific ones, since June 28th. A significant step ahead for 4,300 Express Entry applicants on their path to Canadian Permanent Residency.

In particular, this draw was open to candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Provincial Nominee Program.

According to a recent release by Canada Immigration Minister Marc Miller, IRCC has narrowed down to primarily six new selection categories for Express Entry drawings. The groupings were chosen after considering future labour market estimates and consulting with several Partners, Stakeholders, Provincial, and Territorial governments.

With the new category-based selection draws, as well as IRCC holding back-to-back draws with higher ITAs and lower CRSs, now is the greatest time to immigrate to Canada.
