- Have a valid Express Entry profile and be eligible to enter the Express Entry pool.
- Have a minimum of 12 months of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in the past five years.
- Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of at least 7 in language proficiency.
- Have an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an agency approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

- Have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount of part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before applying.

- Have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer.
- Plan to live outside the province of Quebec.
- Show that they have enough money to support themselves and their family members after they arrive in Canada; and
- Be admissible to Canada.
Federal Skilled Trades Program requires the candidates to:
- Meet the language ability requirements of CLB 5 or higher in all four language abilities – reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- Have a valid job offer of at least one year or a certificate of qualification in a skilled trade from a Canadian province or territory.
- Have at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) work experience in the same skilled trade in the five years prior to applying.
- Have the required certifications or licenses needed to be eligible to work in the trade in Canada.
