Three provinces invite PNP candidates in most recent draws
This week, Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba sent out notices of interest to candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Every province and territory in Canada (except Nunavut and Quebec) has its own PNP. These initiatives assist provincial governments in identifying economic immigration candidates who will benefit the local economy and effectively integrate.
The PNP is a road to permanent residency that was established in 1998 to better distribute the economic advantages of immigration across Canada rather than just a few major cities like Toronto or Vancouver.
All PNPs have various streams to attract a diverse variety of individuals based on their eligibility, including programs for overseas students, those with employment offers in the province, and those with expertise in specialized occupations.
Provincial immigration results for April 20-26
Ontario
On April 23, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) sent Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to 209 individuals for the Employer Job Offer; Foreign Worker Stream. All contestants received scores of at least 53.
The draw was aimed at people with skilled craft vocations. This was the first draw since January 9, when the province welcomed 630 candidates.
British Columbia
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) staged a very modest draw on April 23, inviting little over 86 applications from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams (including Express Entry BC candidates).
Candidates were solicited through five drawings aimed at certain vocations. The largest draw welcomed 45 applicants for technical vocations with a minimum score of 120.
The province also invited 19 applicants for healthcare jobs with a minimum score of 95.
There were 11 individuals called for the childcare and construction vocations. Childcare candidates required to score at least 92, whereas construction candidates needed to score 95.
Finally, less than five veterinarian applicants with a score of at least 85 received invites.
Manitoba
On April 24, 327 applicants were invited to the most recent Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) drawing.
The government recruited applicants from three streams, including 203 candidates from the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream who had completed their postsecondary education in Manitoba. These applicants needed a minimum score of 811 to be considered.
Invitations were also sent to 66 International Education stream candidates. No minimum score was specified.
Finally, 58 individuals were invited to the Skilled Worker Overseas stream as part of a targeted recruitment campaign. These applicants needed a minimum score of 644 to be considered.
