British Columbia, Quebec, and Manitoba have all sent invitations to apply for provincial immigration programs this week.
British Columbia and Manitoba have issued invitations/expressions of interest for their most recent Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) drawings. All provinces and territories have PNPs to assist provincial governments in selecting economic immigration applicants who will quickly integrate into the provincial workforce.
The PNP functions because immigration is a joint duty of the federal and provincial governments. Each year, provinces are given a number of nominations to hand out to potential candidates.
Candidates who successfully secure a provincial nomination are better positioned to apply for permanent residency with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Quebec has a different arrangement with the federal government that provides it control over the selection of all economic immigrants rather than getting an allotment, therefore it does not need a PNP. Instead of getting a nomination, Quebec candidates are encouraged to seek for a certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ).

British Columbia
This week, British Columbia (B.C.) issued 68 invitations to apply for the BCPNP in four distinct occupation-based draws for applicants in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams (including Express Entry BC). The drawing took held on June 4.
Candidates in technical jobs received the most invites, 33 in total. They also required the highest minimum score, 122.

- Healthcare occupations: 13 invitations to candidates with a minimum score of 100
- Childcare occupations: 8 invitations to candidates with a minimum score of 93
- Construction occupations: 14 invitations to candidates with a minimum score of 93
Quebec
This Thursday, Quebec released the results of a draw held on May 30. Quebec generally posts drawings retrospectively.
The province asked 1441 individuals to apply for permanent selection if they:
•had level 7 oral proficiency (or greater) in French, according to the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français. (Québec scale of French competency levels for adult immigrants) or an equivalent
•had a score of at least 591 points.
Candidates were also evaluated if they held a legitimate employment offer outside of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
Manitoba
On June 6, Manitoba issued 254 Letters of Advice to apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). 35 of these were given to candidates who provided a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
The letters were distributed to candidates in three different categories by a drawing.
The province addressed letters to 134 skilled workers in Manitoba with an 834 score. It did the same for 74 applicants in the International Education Stream (with no minimum score).
Finally, 45 letters were sent to candidates in the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream as part of a strategic recruitment initiative. These contenders needed a minimum score of 708.
