and hospitality.
British firms lobbied Chancellor Jeremy Hunt to loosen immigration restrictions earlier this week, citing a
labour crisis. Businesses failing to address labour shortages may have negative short- and long-term
effects on the economy.
According to Tony Danker, the director general of the CBI, “a serious scarcity of labour is raising wages
and preventing firms from growing.”
