New Brunswick Immigrant Nominee Program

What is the New Brunswick Immigrant Nominee Program?

The New Brunswick Immigrant Nominee Program (NBPNP) is an economic immigration program designed to help attract and retain immigrants who are ready to invest in the local economy and become permanent residents of Canada.

NBPNP program allows the province of New Brunswick to nominate individuals who have the skills and experience to contribute to the local economy. These immigrants can apply for permanent residence in Canada through the federal government’s Express Entry system. The NBPNP provides a pathway to permanent residence for qualified immigrants who can fill labour market needs in the province.

The four immigration streams of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) are:

1: Express Entry Labour Market Stream

2: Skilled Workers with Employer Support

3: Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

4: Population Growth Stream.

New Brunswick Express Entry Labor Market Stream

The New Brunswick Express Entry Labor Market Stream is a program designed to help employers in New Brunswick to recruit and hire qualified foreign workers and international graduates who have the skills and experience needed to fill job vacancies in the province. This program is a part of the Canadian government’s Express Entry system, and applicants must first submit an Expression of Interest to the Express Entry pool before being considered for the New Brunswick Express Entry Labor Market Stream.

The New Brunswick Express Entry Labor Market Stream (NB LMS) is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled workers who have the skills and experience to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy.

In order to be eligible for the NB LMS, applicants must:

  1. Have a valid Express Entry profile.
  2. Have a minimum of one year of skilled work experience within the last 10 years.
  3. Have proficiency in English and/or French.
  4. Have a Canadian education or foreign education and credentials assessed by an independent organization.
  5. Have a valid job offer from a New Brunswick employer.
  6. Demonstrate the intention and ability to settle permanently in New Brunswick; and
  7. Meet the minimum score in the NB LMS selection grid.
Selection Factor of New Brunswick Express Entry Labor Market Stream

This job offer must be supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) indicating that the employer has made an effort to recruit Canadians and Permanent Residents for the position but has been unable to find a suitable candidate. The job offer must be full-time, permanent and meet the prevailing wage rate for the occupation. The applicant must also possess the necessary qualifications and experience for the job.

Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream

The New Brunswick Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream (NB P-GES) is an immigration program designed to attract and retain international graduates with a post-secondary degree from a New Brunswick university or college, who have demonstrated entrepreneurial skills and the desire to start and operate a business in the province. The program enables applicants to apply for a New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) Certificate, which, when approved, will allow them to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
